Driver

Responsibilities

• Loads, transports, and delivers items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Reviews orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Affords assistance with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Provides excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
• Adheres to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Maintains an acceptable driving record.
• Abides by all transportation laws and maintains a safe driving record.
• Prepares reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operates equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Performs other duties associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous delivery or customer service experience in any industry preferred.
• An acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• The ability to safely operate and navigate a delivery van.
• The ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods.
• An attention to detail is needed.
• The ability to understand and operate GPS technology and other relevant apps.
