About The Glebe
The Glebe is a LifeSpire of Virginia community located in beautiful Daleville, Virginia. LifeSpire of Virginia is a nonprofit organization serving older adults through a variety of senior living communities throughout Virginia. The Glebe provides a welcoming community for residents while offering a range of services and support designed to meet their changing needs. As a member of The Glebe team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a community where the work you do directly impacts the daily lives of residents.
Responsibilities
- Transport residents to and from local medical appointments as directed.
- Assist in loading and unloading vehicles.
- Transport residents on return to The Glebe to their assigned units and submit all supporting paperwork with the nurse on duty.
- Implement Standard Precautions and dispose of infectious waste according to Virginia State Law.
- Respond to and act appropriately in emergency situations.
- Be aware of resident fall risk and respond to preventative measures to assist in fall reduction.
- Coordinate requested time off with the Transportation Coordinator within schedule policy.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information.
- Maintain a neat, professional, and clean appearance.
- Demonstrate personal responsibility regarding attendance and punctuality.
- Always extend courtesy and an attitude of cooperation while communicating with others.
- Adhere to all abuse policies and residents' rights.
- Report promptly to the charge nurse any pertinent information involving the resident.
- Attend in-services as required.
- Follow all infection control policies.
- Report all instances of abuse or neglect or other concerns to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned in a prompt and cooperative fashion.
Working Hours
Drivers will work as scheduled, with varying duty start and end times dependent on the transportation schedule. One rotating week of on-call time as scheduled. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
General Qualifications
- Must possess a current driver's license in good standing through the state of Virginia.
- Appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles license required for driving the applicable vehicle.
- Yearly physical required if carrying a CDL license.
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Must have the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, and professional offices.
