About the role
The Driver is responsible for transporting materials, tools, and small to medium construction equipment to and from job sites while ensuring loads are properly secured and transported safely. This role includes vehicle inspections, safety compliance, and assisting field crews with general labor as needed between deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Deliver construction materials, pipe, and equipment to job sites using a flatbed truck
- Safely secure and transport loads using straps, chains, and other tie-down equipment
- Absorb materials when needed
- Perform daily truck inspections and report any maintenance issues
- Keep delivery records and vehicle inspection logs up to date
- Ensure the truck is clean, safe, and ready for operation
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Work safely in active construction zones and around heavy equipment
- Support field crews with material handling and other labor tasks between deliveries
- Communicate professionally with coworkers, vendors, and customers
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
- Experience safely driving work trucks and transporting materials
- Knowledge of load securement and safe hauling practices
- Ability to work safely in active construction and high-traffic environments
- Strong attention to safety, detail, and following procedures
- Reliable team player who can follow directions and work independently when needed
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and project needs
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 3+ years of experience driving work trucks or similar vehicles preferred
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Construction industry experience is a plus
- Experience transporting construction materials or equipment is preferred
- Heavy equipment operating experience is a plus, but not required
