Responsibilities

  • Perform all pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries.
  • Necessary vehicle safety inspections for the vehicle.
  • Drive and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route.
  • Ensure the vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs.
  • Load and unload products from the vehicle using a dolly or other appropriate devices safely.
  • Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of the product.
  • Contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the workday.
  • Perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and completing any necessary documents.
  • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of the product.
  • Develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer’s needs.
  • Report any complaints to the supervisor.
  • Collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices.
  • Ensure that payment (cash, checks, etc.) is properly secured.
  • Ensure that safety training is current as per company policy.
  • Supports the Fleet Manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience – One to two years of commercial driving experience is a plus. Transportation of temperature-controlled product experience preferred.
  • Customer Service – Friendly, outgoing, and courteous customer service demeanor.
  • Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Licensing - Must have a valid standard license.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and driving.
    • Regularly be able to lift up to 80 pounds; may occasionally need to lift over 80 pounds.
    • Requires constant mental and visual attention, as well as the ability to see well in limited light scenarios.
    • Repetitive reaching, bending, and twisting.
    • Repetitive pushing and pulling.
    • Must be able to successfully pass a Medical Examiner’s Certification.

Qualifications

  • Basic English speaking proficiency.
  • A combination of the above will also be considered.
