Position Overview
This position provides safe transportation for residents to scheduled activities and appointments.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Transport residents to and from medical appointments and other locations, communicating effectively with residents.
- Ensure the safety of the residents as they enter and exit the vehicle.
- Ensure that the residents get into the office/building of their appointment in a safe and timely manner.
- Aid the residents with walking aids when entering and exiting the vehicle.
- Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
- Maintain records of resident appointments and submit to office for monthly billing per established procedures.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical problems/deficiencies of the vehicle.
- When necessary, assist the lifestyle team with activities during outings.
- Report any concerns of the resident’s well-being to supervisor or Executive Director.
- Participate in emergency evacuation drills and help assist residents to safe areas, as needed.
- Maintain vehicle in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
- Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to resident, facility operations and personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience And Other Requirements
- A High School diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 21 years of age.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- A Class B or C CDL license, if driving applicable bus.
- Chauffer’s license, if required by state.

- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to assist residents with mobility.
- Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.

- Enjoyment in working with older adults.
