Driver
About the role
Drivers provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of customer orders. Warehouse Drivers make pick-ups as necessary, perform general warehouse duties and customer assistance as needed. This individual must perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Load truck accurately and safely for customer deliveries.
- Unload truck as needed at vendor and/or branch locations.
- Drive company vehicle to make customer deliveries and stock pick-ups, obeying traffic laws and safety procedures.
- Maintain appropriate licensing, credentials and acceptable driving record.
- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, following all safety rules.
- Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.
- Always conduct self in a professional and ethical manner.
- Treat external and internal customers and associates with courtesy and respect.
- Fill customer orders by retrieving material from the warehouse and other locations.
- Check in and put away material, verifying quantities and quality of received material.
- Maintain clear isles and walkways.
- Ensure material is properly organized.
- Aid warehouse associates as needed.
- Report back-orders or discrepancies.
- Perform cycle counts as required following through on discrepancies as needed.
- Perform vehicle and/or forklift inspections as required, schedule routine or repair maintenance as needed.
- Maintain presentable truck appearance, cleaning as needed.
- Assist in performance of year-end physical inventories for various branch locations.
Requirements
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and customers.
- Adhering to safety practices.
- Basic math: understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge of lifting and good driving practices.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree (A. A.). 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working Conditions
Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required. Travel requirements: Domestic and/or International: Up to 20%. Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.

Employees should not attempt to lift, pull or push a load excess of 50lbs without assistance. Care should always be taken when lifting, punching, or pulling in an awkward position.
