Job Summary

Transports patients from place of origin to the appointments in a courteous and timely manner. We are seeking healthcare enthusiasts to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and return of patients as per schedule.
• Stays in contact with the office to report any change in schedule including any patient cancellations.
• Affixes to patients to get in and out of the vehicle.
• Affixes to patients with wheelchair.
• Ensures the safety of all passengers.
• Works flexible shifts as work dictates.
• Delivers, Holter monitors, and miscellaneous pick-ups as needed.
• Transport patient to hospital or specialist office.
• Checks and maintains van daily and ensures that it is mechanically safe and clean.
• Reports any incident or accidents to the supervisor and management immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Up to 1 year driving experience required; patient transportation preferred.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Knowledge of local streets and addresses.
• Customer service skills.
• Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies:
  • Valid Drivers license.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to transport members in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and location.
  • Must be able to comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have basic mechanical skills i.e. ability to check and fully inspect their vehicles daily.

Qualifications

• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to reach, lift, carry and move objects.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit intermittently and occasionally climb.
  • The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed.
  • Physical demands include ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Travel Requirements:
  • Travel Required: Amount of Expected Travel: Details: Work will involve driving/traveling to assigned clinics.
• Tools & Equipment Used:
  • Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.
