Driver Associate

Professional Contractor Supply is hiring a Driver Associate in Columbus, OH. We are looking to hire ASAP.

About the role

This position requires operating a company-owned delivery truck to deliver materials and finished products to customers in the local area and job sites. The role is self-directed, requiring adherence to traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Stage merchandise for outgoing shipment and load/unload merchandise on delivery trucks.
• Assist the Operations Manager and co-workers in assigned tasks, including maintaining a neat and orderly warehouse and shipping areas, and ensuring equipment is kept in safe and efficient condition.
• Exercise and promote safe behaviors, and report accidents in accordance with company policy.
• Keep the General Manager informed of shortages, overloads, damaged merchandise, and inventory control.
• Operate a company-owned or leased vehicle safely while delivering materials, products, and parts to customers and job sites, following all traffic laws.
• Obtain signatures on delivery and pick-up invoices or signed slips.
• Follow assigned scheduling and routing of deliveries to ensure timely completion.
• Adhere to the maintenance schedule for truck services and repairs; report mechanical problems to a supervisor and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Follow all company policies, remain courteous and service-minded, and support a culture of collaboration.
• Complete projects and assignments on time, comply with all rules and procedures, and maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
• Attend department meetings and trainings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record; a DMV report is required prior to employment.
• Must be 23 years of age or over.
• A minimum of two years of driving experience with 16ft trucks, forklifts, and man lifts.
• Must be familiar with the Columbus area and able to read directions and use street maps to plot delivery routes.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs to load and deliver packages.
• Must be a dependable worker able to carry out work instructions without constant supervision.
• Must be proficient in computer and general internet usage.
• Must be able to create positive and productive working relationships with employees and customers.
• Must be able to work independently and use effective problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• May be required to work some Saturdays for inventory.

Pay

Competitive starting range of $21.50 - $25.10 per hour plus bonus compensation.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday - Friday, day shift.
