Driver Associate

Job Summary

The Driver Associate will operate a company-owned delivery truck to deliver materials and finished products to customers within the local area. Duties include staging merchandise for outgoing shipments, loading and unloading merchandise, assisting with general warehouse tasks, and following traffic laws.

Essential Functions/Job Requirements

• Staging merchandise for outgoing shipment and loading/unloading merchandise on delivery trucks
• Assisting Branch Manager and co-workers in performing assigned tasks, keeping the warehouse and shipping areas neat and orderly, and ensuring equipment is safe and efficient
• Exercising and promoting safe behaviors, reporting accidents, and following maintenance schedules for vehicles
• Operating company-owned and leased vehicles safely, delivering materials/products/jobsites on time, and obtaining signatures on invoices
• Keeping Branch Manager informed of shortages, overloads, damaged merchandise, and inventory control
• Following assigned scheduling and routing of deliveries, and reporting any mechanical problems to the Branch Manager
• Maintaining vehicle in a neat and clean condition, and attending department meetings and trainings as requested

Qualifications

• Valid TX driver's license with a clean driving record or ability to obtain one
• At least 2 years of driving experience over 16ft trucks, forklifts, and man lifts
• Familiarity with the Dallas-Fort Worth area and ability to read directions/maps
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Dependable worker with strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in computer and general internet usage
• Positive working relationships with employees and customers
• Ability to work independently and some Saturdays for inventory
• Forklift experience or willingness to be trained
