Driver Apprentice (Class B)

Position Overview: This role involves operating straight trucks to transport freight between service centers and customer locations. It includes non-driving duties such as forklift operation and working at the dock, focusing on safety and freight handling. Key Responsibilities Operate straight trucks and perform safety inspectionsHandle freight using motorized/manual equipment like forklifts and pallet jacksSecure freight with straps, ropes, and pallets; repair damaged freight if neededComplete documentation, reports, and freight charge checksComply with hazardous material regulations and company policiesCommunicate with dispatch and customers regarding deliveries, pickups, and potential sales leadsPerform tire chaining and other duties as required Qualifications & Skills Must possess a Class B CDL or CLP with automatic transmission restriction allowedValid Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulationsAbility to perform basic math, lift up to 100 pounds, and work independently or in a teamAbility to follow instructions and complete training Working Conditions: Must work indoors and outdoors, driving in various weather conditions, with exposure to noise, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials per DOT standards.
