Driver Apprentice (Class B)

Position Overview: This role involves operating straight trucks to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customer locations, with responsibilities including forklift operation and dock work. Key Duties Operate straight trucks safely and perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip inspections.Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment, secure cargo, and repair damaged freight.Complete documentation, process freight charges, and ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations.Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding deliveries, pickups, and operational issues.Provide customer service, ask for additional business, and support sales leads.Perform tire chaining and other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Must hold a Class B CDL or CLP, with automatic transmission restriction allowed.Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations.Ability to perform basic math, read route schedules, and lift items up to 100 pounds.Ability to sit, bend, twist, climb in/out of trucks, and follow instructions.Capable of working independently or in a team. Working Conditions: Must work outdoors and indoors, driving in various weather conditions, with exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials.
