Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company safety rules during working hours and ensure the safety of yourself and others at your workstation.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and orderly condition.
  • Work in a professional manner—punctual, dependable, and consistent.
  • Set up both lines mechanically from pay-off through take-up operations, including installing appropriate tooling (dies) and all auxiliary equipment needed to produce specified stranded conductor gauge sizes per process instructions.
  • Monitor the supply of raw materials to ensure continuous operation.
  • Perform required measurements using company-approved measuring devices to ensure the final product meets specifications (reference PC 034 and PC 025).
  • Verify all measuring devices are in proper calibration.
  • Take corrective action as needed to maintain product quality.
  • Generate product identification tags for finished product and maintain accurate records of all required information, including work center line logs.
  • Participate in scheduled team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support and maintain ISO certification requirements.
  • Follow all applicable System Level Procedures (SLP) and Process Controls (PC).
  • Follow production tracking report schedules.

Required Education, Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Understanding of basic line operations and line components.
  • Familiarity with tools and measuring devices used in the industry.
  • Ability to operate pay-off and take-up equipment.
  • Knowledge of ISO requirements related to line operations.
  • Ability to select and install gears and dies.
  • Understanding of internal/industry codes and abbreviations for conductors and wires.
  • Basic principles of welding.
  • Ability to identify and tag finished products.
  • Willingness to accept direction and work effectively within a team environment.

Physical Demands

  • The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to chest height.
  • Exert up to 60 pounds of force to roll a spool off a pallet onto a track (50–80 spools per 12-hour shift).
  • Maneuver, spin, and align reels—exerting up to 100 pounds of force—up to an 84" size safely.
  • Exert 30–50 pounds of force using cable cutters.
  • Visually inspect product quality.
  • Use hand tools and measuring devices.
