Drama Director

About the role

Harrison Middle School is seeking an enthusiastic educator to lead middle school students through one or two productions: a 6th-grade play and a 7th/8th-grade musical or play. Each production would require 8-10 weeks of after-school practices followed by a live performance. There is a possibility that all three grade levels participate in one production, but that will be determined by the advisor and building administrators.

Responsibilities

• Lead rehearsals for 6th-grade play and 7th/8th-grade musical or play
• Plan and coordinate after-school practices
• Prepare students for live performances
• Work closely with Harrison Middle School administration and teachers
• Ensure safety and well-being of students during rehearsals and performances

Requirements

• Up-to-date CHRC certification or willingness to obtain one

Qualifications

• Experience leading theatrical productions
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with students of various ages

Skills

• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Knowledge of educational theater techniques
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
