About the role

As a Drain Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and restoring the functionality of residential and commercial drainage systems across various locations in the United States. Your primary objective will be to diagnose, repair, and prevent drainage issues to ensure efficient water flow and prevent property damage.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and diagnose drainage system issues using cameras, sensors, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Perform cleaning, unclogging, and repair of drains, pipes, and sewer lines using mechanical and hydro-jetting equipment.
  • Maintain and operate specialized tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain problems, recommend solutions, and provide cost estimates.
  • Document work performed, maintain accurate service records, and comply with all safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in plumbing, drainage, or a related field with hands-on technical skills.
  • Ability to operate drain cleaning equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and local plumbing codes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in plumbing or drain cleaning technology.
  • Experience with video inspection systems for sewer and drain lines.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to wastewater management.
  • Customer service experience in a technical field.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergency call-outs.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers, explaining technical information clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Preferred skills such as certification and experience with video inspection systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and customer service skills.
