Draftsperson/AutoCAD Operator

Island Diversified is seeking a detail-oriented Draftsperson/AutoCAD Operator to join our team.

About the role

You will work closely with engineers and project managers to produce accurate technical drawings and plans for construction and manufacturing projects. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and a strong understanding of drafting standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed drawings, plans, and schematics using AutoCAD software.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Review and interpret sketches, notes, and other input materials to produce accurate technical documents.
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
• Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports as needed.

Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with other drafting software (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks).
• Strong understanding of drafting principles, standards, and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in producing high-quality drawings.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting or a similar role.
