About the role
The Trade Show Draftsman at EDE Corporation produces drawings required for efficient project fabrication within budgetary guidelines and creates assembly drawings to ensure successful installation.
Responsibilities
- Gather all information related to project construction
- Create and update Design/Build project drawings, including floor plans, carpet layouts, utility locations, furnishings, specialty items, graphics, and general properties layout
- Produce fabrication and set-up drawings
- Maintain new client files for construction and set-up drawings
- Assist Project/Account Managers with other project drawing responsibilities
- Ensure construction methods match the estimate or seek improvements through value engineering
- Ensure detailing hours match or are completed under the estimated time
- Review project Service/Show Service orders
- Maintain project files for future reference
- Document time on projects and submit time cards
- Uphold project safety and quality standards
- Make field revisions to set-up drawings and floor plans as required
- Maintain project schedule as determined by the Project Manager
- Research new building products or methods as needed
- Store and file electronic and hard-copy client drawings, sketches, and artwork
- Attend weekly production meetings and provide input on job progress and potential problems
- Assist Project Managers as needed
- Perform other duties assigned by the Production Manager
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years detailing experience in the Trade Show Industry
- General knowledge of construction, carpentry, joinery, extension systems, and finishing processes
- Ability to engineer construction drawings from design sketches
- Experience with AutoCAD & MS Office software
