Draftsman

About the role

Prepare shop fabrication drawings on time and within estimate while meeting company and customer quality control standards. This position involves creating accurate, legible drawings for shop fabrication and field erection, performing job site visits to record existing conditions in AutoCAD, and producing general arrangement drawings for estimating construction costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, legible drawings for shop fabrication and field erection
• Perform job site visits to determine existing layouts and record conditions in AutoCAD
• Produce general arrangement drawings to show proposed work for estimating costs
• Generate CNC files for shop fabrication of steel
• Run combining and nesting software for material consolidation
• Check drawings of other designers for accuracy and completeness
• Perform material take-offs for estimating shop fabrication projects
• Provide drawings for equipment arrangement, concrete, structural steel, and other project needs as directed

Requirements

• Minimum 2-year degree in industrial computer technology, engineering technology, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
• Experience with AutoCAD, Advance Steel, and Strumis (preferred)
• Highly detail-oriented with strong time management and mathematical skills
• Effective communication and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver license
• Pass drug screening and criminal background checks
