Drafting Technician I
Responsibilities
- Create and modify Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings based on sketches or specifications provided by engineers.
- Prepare clean, complete, and accurate documents and working drawings from rough or detailed specifications prepared by the engineer.
- Conduct quality checks on final drawings and layouts.
- Absorb and organize project drawing files and schedules.
- Develop plan and detail drawings for single lines, three lines, sections and details.
- Maintain and update CAD document archives and ensure accurate file management.
- Support engineers with shop drawing reviews and project coordination tasks.
- Perform basic tasks like checking dimensions, inserting blocks, and creating material takeoffs.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree in Computer Aided Design/Drafting, Engineering Technology, or relevant CAD Certifications.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in electrical/utility drafting or related fields (entry-level candidates with strong technical training will be considered).
- Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other CAD software such as MicroStation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Efficient communication and teamwork abilities.
