About the role
ProRecruiters is seeking a Drafting Designer to join a growing and dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and job requirements to develop accurate and complete drawings.
- Prepare and revise drawings for pressure vessels, power piping, ducting, structural steel, and related components.
- Apply appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications based on engineering input and industry standards.
- Ensure drawings are checked for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements to minimize errors and omissions.
- Incorporate redlines and engineering changes into updated drawing revisions.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Fabrication, Purchasing, Sales, and other departments to clarify drawing requirements and resolve discrepancies.
- Support the release of drawings and documentation to fabrication and other departments to meet project schedules and material lead times.
- Assist in layout and design efforts for new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
- Maintain organized drawing files and follow document control procedures for revisions and releases.
- Assist in troubleshooting fabrication or field issues by reviewing drawings and implementing necessary corrections.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of drafting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Associate's degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is required.
- Experience with pressure vessels, power piping, ducting, structural steel, and/or industrial equipment is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to ASME codes (including Section I) is a plus.
- Working knowledge of fabrication processes and shop practices preferred.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering instructions.
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Pay
Starting at $90,000/year
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
