About the Role

This is a contract opportunity for a technical drafting professional supporting design and document control activities within a refinery environment. The role offers the chance to contribute to project drawing production, redline updates, and technical documentation for a multidisciplinary project team. Candidates with AutoCAD experience who can work effectively with limited supervision in a technically focused setting are well suited for this position.

The opportunity is based within the refining sector and supports drafting work for projects in both office and refinery environments. The role involves collaboration with engineers, designers, and contractors as part of a project team, including drawing updates, technical documentation, and field walk downs connected to refinery design activities.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and incorporate redlines from designers into drawing updates.
• Support document control activities by processing redlines from schematics and P&IDs.
• Produce and update project drawings in line with company design standards and project procedures.
• Create technical drawings including schematics, isometrics, P&IDs, building layouts, equipment layouts, cable tray and pipe routing, pipe schedules, installation details, and bills of materials.
• Set up CAD environments including libraries and layers.
• Carry out general drafting support for the design team.
• Perform field walk downs as required.
• Work under the direction of engineers and designers while operating effectively with limited supervision.
• Apply knowledge of drafting standards, methods, and practices in day-to-day deliverables.

Requirements

• 1-5 years of experience in drafting.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to function as part of a project team and work effectively with a diverse technical work group.
• Basic knowledge of process and instrumentation symbology.
• Ability to work safely in both office and refinery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in refining, petrochemical, or a similar industry.
• Experience using Falcon.
• Experience in SAP.
• Associate degree in design, drafting, or engineering technology.
