Drafter/designer
We are seeking experienced CAD Drafters/Designers for a 2-3 month defense project supporting a major program. This role focuses on creating formal engineering drawings and documentation under the guidance of senior engineers. Your contributions will be pivotal in a production-focused drafting role supporting significant defense initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Operate and apply Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment for creating and modifying detailed drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure model accuracy, design drafting standards, and documentation.
- Contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operations and improve product quality.
- Check drawing plots against project inputs for correctness and conformance to standards.
- Maintain system management including file maintenance, backup, and storage.
- Work on complex assignments that require judgment in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
- Provide guidance to end-users regarding time and resource requirements for project completion.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD drafting/design with 3-5+ years of experience.
- SolidWorks preferred.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with mechanical drawings, electrical cables/connectors, and electronic/electromechanical assemblies.
- High school diploma or GED minimum.
Qualifications
- Experience in defense/aerospace documentation.
- Experience creating manufacturing drawings from physical parts and prototypes.
- 2 years of technical training plus 4 years of experience in CAD and associated equipment.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
