Drafter

This is a contract, hybrid position based in Colorado Springs, CO.

About the Role

Produce and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings from layouts, references, and engineering input for electronics devices using CAD/CAM/CATIA tools. Support engineering and inspection teams by providing timely drawing clarifications, redlines, revisions, and controlled release of updated drawings.

Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain bills of materials, drawing notes, tolerances, finish specifications, and material callouts required for manufacturing and assembly.
• Complete and refine major layout drawings prepared by others, applying standard drafting practices to ensure producibility and compliance with engineering intent.
• Propose and document design modifications to improve part manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, or cost.
• Ensure all drawings and deliverables adhere to company standards, configuration control processes, and applicable engineering/industry drawing conventions.
• Conduct and support peer reviews, physical self-audits, and formal CM/QA audits, ensuring all findings are documented and adjudicated.
• Assist in developing modeling processes that align with existing enterprise engineering requirements.

Requirements

• High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience producing detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards, GD&T, scaling, sectioning, and configuration control practices, with excellent attention to detail.
• Active Secret level clearance.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with DoD programs.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Experience with data centers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build solid relationships with team members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Visio.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00 per hour.
