Drafter

Responsibilities

• Performs duties substantially identical to those of a Design Drafter as training for advancement to such position
• Works under direction from design studies, sketches, computations, or other data of moderate complexity
• Performs, under direction, general drafting or mapping work of a moderately difficult nature frequently requiring a search for data and coordination of information
• Performs simple engineering computing work under direction

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School or GED diploma
• Two years of drafting training in high school and junior college or the equivalent in education and experience with a demonstrated drafting aptitude
• Desired: Experience in drafting
• Two years of drafting training or the equivalent in education and experience with a demonstrated drafting aptitude
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software
• Willingness to work in a radiation-controlled area
• Competency in providing direction, delegating, and removing obstacles to get work done
• Competency in relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
• Knowledge of engineering codes and standards as needed to perform at the job level
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight
• Ability to read and understand information presented in graphics, maps, schematics, or diagrams as needed to perform at the job level

Pay

The starting wage rate for this position is $37.56 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. The wage rate is based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.

Schedule

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
