Drafter

About the role

Use AutoCAD to create pipeline alignment sheets and plats, exhibits, and permit drawings used to construct pipeline projects. Prepare design drawings with plan, section, detail format, or plan and profile as designated. Prepare sketches of details not included on existing drawings to accurately reflect as-installed field conditions. Prepare drawings, forms, maps, and lists based on approved details provided by designers and engineers.

Requirements

• 2–5 years drafting experience or education equivalent
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and legal descriptions drafting
• Oil and gas industry experience required
• Reading and understanding maps, plat maps, as-builts, construction drawings, and gas service records for existing condition interpolation
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with Route Mapper and/or Plat Mapper preferred

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of survey procedures and data collection
• Level of knowledge to work independently
• Ability to work on multiple projects using raw field data and computer data
• Ability to apply land surveying methodologies, formulas, principles, and techniques to solve surveying-related problems
• Ability to review their own work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements as appropriate
• Customer service and team oriented
• Self-starter, organized, attentive to detail, and able to work under stress to meet deadlines
