The Drafter works closely with design originators preparing drawings of unusual, complex, or original designs. A high degree of precision in development of drawings and parts lists that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings is expected. Although working primarily as a drafter, may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details.
Responsibilities
- Perform difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise to visualize and portray complex drawings and models
- Anticipates problems in manufacturing, assembly, installation, and operation and addresses these problems in the documents produced
- Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent

- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
Requirements
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience using Autodesk software (AutoCAD and Inventor) and established standards to develop and revise complex drawings and parts lists of electro-mechanical equipment from technical data packages, 3D model files, actual equipment, and/or sketches
- Extensive knowledge of drafting field required
- Able to work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
- Able to plan own work and use judgment within limits of standard practice
- Attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience using Autodesk Inventor to develop and revise 3D models of electro-mechanical equipment
Pay
Pay may range from $26.00 to $35.00 hourly. The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
