About the role

Unarmed Security Officer assigned to a college campus, responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role includes conducting regular patrols of campus grounds and facilities, monitoring access points, responding to incidents and emergencies, and enforcing campus policies and procedures. The officer provides customer service while remaining vigilant for suspicious activity or safety hazards.

Strong communication, observation, and conflict resolution skills are essential, as the officer must accurately document incidents, collaborate with campus administration and local authorities when necessary, and uphold a professional presence at all times.

Responsibilities

• Reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures
• Securing premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
• Tasks assigned by supervisor or manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED required
• 5-7 year U.S. work history may be required
• Valid NYS Security Guard License
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Must be able to understand the English language and communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
• Must be physically able to perform the tasks required by the position

Schedule

• Friday and Saturday 2300-0700 (16 hrs.)
• Thursday–Sunday 2300-0700 (32 hrs.)
• Saturday–Tuesday 2300-0700 (32 hrs.)
• Monday–Friday 2300-0700 (40 hrs.)

Pay

Up to USD $19.00/Hr.
