Downstroke Operator

About the role

A downstroke operator at Goodwill Northern New England is responsible for compacting textiles using a specialized machine. This position requires the ability to safely operate and maintain the equipment, as well as follow safety guidelines and perform regular checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the downstroke machine for compressing textiles.
• Safely load and place materials into the downstroke.
• Ensure all safety guidelines and procedures are followed.
• Perform pre and post-operational checklists on equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production goals.

Requirements

• Must be over the age of 18.
• Prior warehouse and equipment operation experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift and handle materials.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and processes.
• Positive attitude and team player mentality.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
