About the role
As a Doughnut Quality Technician at Krispy Kreme, you will ensure that all products meet the company’s high quality, food safety, and aesthetic standards. This role involves monitoring critical control points, maintaining documentation, and educating employees on food safety and SQF standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and program critical control points (CCP).
- Oversee product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and required areas.
- Record and file all relevant logs and documentation accurately.
- Ensure recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
- Enforce food safety and worker safety practices among employees.
- Educate employees on food safety and SQF standards.
- Collect product samples for product development, lab retains, and laboratory testing.
- Inspect products, equipment, and machinery.
- Conduct monthly self-GMP audits of the facility alongside plant management.

Safety and Sanitation
- Maintain a clean, neat uniform at all times and ensure employees adhere to uniform standards.
- Comply with sanitation standards.
Leadership
- Act as a team player following Krispy Kreme’s training standards.
- Assist in training and developing team members.
- Support managers with training new employees.
- Model company and facility standards and policies consistently.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills for employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Experience in a QA and food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to complete or learn basic audits, including HACCP/HARPC monitoring, SSOP sanitation monitoring, pest control, weight control checks, and online quality audits.
- Ability to work independently and with others with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a cool environment for extended periods.
- Ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English and communicate with management.
- Basic math skills.
- Intermediate PC skills with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Post-secondary education.
- Certified HACCP/HARPC.
- SQF exposure.
