About the role
As a Quality Control Technician at Krispy Kreme, you play a crucial part in ensuring the quality, food safety, and esthetics of all products. Your responsibilities include monitoring critical control points, maintaining sanitation standards, and educating employees on food safety and SQF standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and program critical control points (CCP).
- Maintain and monitor product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas as required.
- Record and file all relevant records and documentation accurately and legibly.
- Ensure correct recipe guidelines are met during processing.
- Ensure employees adhere to food safety and worker safety practices.
- Educate employees on food safety and SQF standards.
- Collect product samples for Product Development, lab retains, and the laboratory as directed.
- Inspect products, equipment, and machinery along with the plant management team.
- Perform monthly self-GMP audits of the facility.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Experience working in a QA & food manufacturing environment.
- Able to complete or learn to complete basic audits including HACCP/HARPC monitoring and verification, SSOP preoperative and operative sanitation monitoring, Pest Control, weight control checks, and on-line quality audits.
- Able to work independently and with others with minimal supervision.
- Able to work for extended periods in a cool environment.
- Able to maintain accurate and legible documentation of all assigned responsibilities.
- Able to speak, read, and write in English and communicate effectively with management.
- Possess basic math skills and intermediate PC skills with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education strongly preferred.
- Certified HACCP/HARPC preferred.
- SQF exposure preferred.
