About the Role
Applies knowledge and skills in advanced treatment planning techniques. Simulates or supervises simulation of patients using a simulator, computed tomography, or other devices to accurately localize the treatment area under the direction of the radiation oncologist. Serves as Radiation Safety Technologist. Provides supervision, guidance, and education for simulation/dosimetry therapists and radiation therapy technology students. Works with the Chief Dosimetrist and Medical Physicist to troubleshoot and problem-solve clinical setups or quality issues. Checks charts weekly and verifies total dose(s) delivered upon completion of each course of therapy. Responsible for the technical component of the brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery program. Responsible for relaying all information pertinent for treatment delivery to radiation therapists. Performs and supervises mold room duties. Provides appropriate teaching to patients and family.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Vocational School Graduate
- 2-5 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
- (ARRT-T) Radiation Therapy or (CMD) Certified Medical Dosimetrist certification
