About the role

This position provides daily supervision and support to MEHS residential students to ensure a safe and positive living environment. The incumbent will respond to students’ needs and assist them as challenges arise. The incumbent will maintain discipline and uphold respectful community standards within the dorms. In emergency or high-stress situations, the incumbent will remain calm, assess circumstances quickly, and take effective action. Overall, this position ensures students are well supported, appropriately supervised, and set up for success in their residential experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure students are well supported, appropriately supervised, and set up for success in their residential experience.

Requirements

  • Two years of paid work experience, one year of which was dealing with the public.
  • College education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License and First Aid/CPR.
  • Able to pass a fingerprint-based background check per AS 47.32.101 and 7 AAC 10.900.

Skills

  • Knowledge of methods and controls of personnel, public safety, and security operations.
  • Investigation and inspection techniques.
  • Rules, regulations, precautions, and prevention techniques for the protection of people, data, or property.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Accountability for measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results.
