Doors and Windows Field Service Technician

About the role

The Field Service Technician 1 is responsible for performing on-site repairs, inspections, and maintenance of building products while ensuring safety, quality, and excellent customer service. This role provides hands-on experience in field operations, process adherence, and customer interaction, with opportunities to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Field Repairs & Adjustments: Perform basic field repairs, including hardware and glass replacements, operational adjustments, and product inspections.
• Product Evaluations & Inspections: Conduct on-site evaluations to assess product performance and identify repair needs.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of glass, working at heights, and use of PPE; maintain and inspect safety equipment and first aid kits.
• Vehicle Operation & Maintenance: Operate company vehicles safely, adhere to local laws, and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Inventory Management: Manage tools and supplies inventory to maintain proper stock and organization.
• Customer Service & Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair issues and solutions, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
• Travel: Travel within assigned territory daily; overnight travel may be required depending on territory.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license with ability to successfully clear an MVR check.
• Experience: 1–2 years of general construction or building material installation experience preferred; 1–2 years of fenestration manufacturing or installation experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Basic computer skills (Outlook & CRM); proficiency with hand and power tools.
