About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for a Doorier On-Call to join the team at Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Ski Lodge Dooriers welcome all guests upon arrival to the venue. They open doors for guests and hosts leading guests into the restaurant. Dooriers work together as a team, taking turns leading guests specifically to the Ski Lodge. Dooriers lead this journey through the main doors of Superfrico, and continue to guide them through the Spiritual Car Wash and Bottle-O, until they reach their destination in the Ski Lodge. Dooriers maintain capacity in the Ski Lodge via two-way radio communications and line queuing as needed.

Dooriers are charming, charismatic, immaculately dressed and alluring. Dooriers will encourage and influence guests passing by to enter the venue. They are mysterious, magnetic, and creative making all guests feel welcomed and sure to leave an impression. This position reports to the Stage Manager and collaborates directly with the Manager on Duty/General Manager at Superfrico.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere to guests upon arrival
  • Invite and influence guests who are passing by to enter venue
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace
  • Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
  • Make food and beverage recommendations setting the tone for their experience
  • Offer to take photos of guests waiting in line for Ski Lodge
  • Entertain guests waiting in line with fun facts about the Ski Lodge and other Spiegelworld venues to visit
  • Provide assistance to guests with wheelchairs/walkers or any other special needs or requests for accommodations
  • Manage capacity, crowd control and line queuing
  • Personally reserve seats and handle VIP’s reservations, notifying all management of VIP arrival and departure times
  • Check guest ID’s to ensure they are at least 21 years of age
  • Entertain guests and tell them more about Spiegelworld shows and restaurants to visit
  • Defuse confrontations or disputes before they escalate
  • Refuse entry to guests who appear intoxicated
  • Ensure all guests adhere to venues code of conduct
  • Liaise with security personnel and law enforcement as needed to ensure a safe environment
  • Say goodbye to guests as they depart the venue
  • May be asked to participate or support a Superfeat act but not guaranteed
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

  • The role can be physically demanding, requiring stamina and sometimes strength to open main entrance doors
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required
  • A knack for reading people and managing a wide range of personalities is crucial
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • A keen sense of awareness to detail
  • Professional demeanor required to set the stage for respectful interactions
  • Conflict resolution and crowd psychology
  • Line queuing and crowd control management
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Successful background check and drug test clearance prior to hire
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/needed
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice and theater environment
  • Ability to stand (not lean), for up to 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 30lbs (the main door) throughout an eight hour shift
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high

Pay

$25/hour

Schedule

On-call shifts ranging 1p-9p, 11a-6p, and 6p-2a
