About the role

This position is responsible for the installation and repair of door hardware within the hospital. It includes routine and preventive maintenance such as operating, cleaning, inspecting, adjusting, tightening, replacing, lubricating, and reporting problems. The Door Tech may also assist others in completing their work.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, minor repairs, and replacements on building structures and furnishings, including internal and external doors, door hardware, door frames, and cabinets.
• Repair and maintain automatic doors.
• Bore and core doors for the installation of locking system hardware.
• Adjust door closures and other door hardware.
• Install, repair, and maintain various types of doors, including automatic door openers, sliding glass doors, and electronic eye/push‑button mechanisms.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of related experience, or vocational/technical education.
• Mechanical knowledge in construction, automotive, carpentry, general maintenance, or related fields.
• Knowledge of local and state building codes, including NFPA standards.
• Experience installing door closers, mortising doors, and other door hardware.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a course in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 80) within 6 months of hire.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Schedule

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (on‑site).
