About the role
The Donor Relations and Development Services Coordinator supports the fundraising, donor engagement, and development operations of the BRCC Educational Foundation. This position is instrumental in fostering strong relationships with donors, alumni, community partners, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Maintain donor and financial records through data entry, management, and reporting – including daily gift entries and employee payroll deductions.
- Serve as back-up to Foundation Finance Manager, utilizing cross-training and crossover to provide internal controls and support continuous operations.
- Prepare donor correspondence, acknowledgments, and stewardship communications.
- Cook up and attend all Foundation Committee and Board meetings, to include drafting of minutes, room set-up and catering.
- Coordinate the BRCC Scholarship Luncheon connecting donors with scholarship recipients.
- Facilitate New Board Member Orientation.
- Cook up the production of Community Link newsletter several times annually.
- Partner with BRCC web designer to maintain Foundation website.
- Develop and distribute email campaigns supporting donor stewardship and fundraising initiatives.
- Provide support for the many events and activities of the BRCC Educational Foundation.
- May serve as back-up to the Foundation Financial Manager, and requires credit check in addition to regular criminal background check.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

- Helpful, but not required: Administrative or clerical experience, Donor relations, fundraising, or development experience, Event planning and coordination experience, Marketing, communications, or related experience, Commitment to and support of BRCC’s mission, Experience working in higher education, Experience building community partnerships, Operation of a State Vehicle, No supervision of employees, No required travel.
Pay and Schedule
The starting salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, with a full-time classified position offering generous leave and holiday time, along with very competitive health benefits coverage (to include dental, vision, and short-term and long-term disability), retirement with the Virginia Retirement System, deferred compensation investment opportunities, educational assistance, and access to the college’s Recreation Center.
