DONOR ON THE GO (BOX TRUCK DRIVER)

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities

• Uphold the mission, vision, and values while conducting home pickups throughout the southeast Georgia area.
• Operate vehicle while maintaining safety standards.
• Utilize independent judgement and knowledge to accept saleable donations and assign corresponding prices to each high-ticket item secured.
• Maintain records of pickups to correlate with goods received to provide verification to the store manager receiving product.
• Ensure maintenance checks and safety standards are complete and accurate for all equipment and vehicles.
• Maintain schedule and complete home pickups following the assigned schedule.
• Supervise and oversee the donation attendant assigned to the program.
• Handle, load, unload, and secure goods in a manner that protects goods, donors, and associates.
• Provide first-level customer support to resolve customer service complaints or issues.
• Work in coordination with administrative support specialist and senior director of donor engagement to build, maintain, and monitor the schedule of home pickups.
• Adhere to all driving rules and regulations; report motor vehicle violations (on/off duty) within 24 hours.
• Report all property damage immediately and complete written accident reports.
• Use appropriate safety and protective equipment as necessary.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred with a minimum 6-12 months commercial truck driving experience or any job-related experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License (Class C), with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company’s standards.
• Ability to read maps and other written directions.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Able to maintain good relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Must be able to understand and follow training instructions.
