Responsibilities
- Provides compassionate and professional donation and grief support by engaging families in crisis, advocating for eye, tissue, research, and education donation opportunities, securing authorization, completing all required documentation accurately, and conducting thorough Donor Risk Assessment Interviews while maintaining effective communication with funeral homes, medical examiners, eye banks, hospitals, and donor families.
- Manages donor referrals by responding to opportunities from multiple partners, verifying registry status, accessing hospital EMRs, evaluating donor suitability, and performing quality checks on legal documents.
- Assesses and triages incoming calls and electronic communications, prioritizing urgent needs and routing inquiries appropriately to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for all stakeholders.
Requirements
3 years with HS Diploma/GED or 1 year with AS degree - working with families through counseling, bereavement and/or crisis intervention or experience with donation approach experience in an OPO/Tissue environment
