Donation attendants are true Goodwill Ambassadors. Enjoy an active and dynamic position assisting donors of household goods. Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external guests.
- Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles.
- Accurately records donations.
- Independently lifts up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Safely operates manual and/or power equipment (depending on location).
- Keeps donation area clean and free of debris.
- Completes donor receipts and offers the donor a copy.
- Sorts donated items into designated categories.
- Follows prescribed safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
- Maintains a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
- Assists with loading/unloading donations into company vehicles.
- Performs general housekeeping duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions in English for safety and communication.
- Effective verbal communication with associates and customers.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing for prolonged periods (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of six months of previous work experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Previous pallet packing and forklift experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Multilingual with proficiency in English.
