Donation Attendant

About The Role

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) offers a no-fee program to assist men and women in their rehabilitation journey. The organization values its employees' contributions and relies on their dedication and devotion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Aid donors in receiving donated items and provide a receipt.
• Manage and sort donated materials into appropriate containers and stack them as directed.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as needed.
• Inform supervisors about needed supplies before running out (e.g., brooms, receipts, totes, carts).
• Secure and lock the Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Pass a background check, including a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
• Ability to read, write, and understand both written and verbal instructions.
• Effective communication skills with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.

Physical Demands

• Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
• Grasp, push, and pull objects like files, drawers, carts, merchandise carts, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, and carts.
• Move products up to 75 lbs.
• Perform various repetitive motion tasks.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule

Stores operate 7 days a week. Work schedules are determined by management and associates must be flexible to cover shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift.

The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations related to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff if required. Exemptions from these requirements may be considered on religious or medical grounds when available.
