Donation Attendant

About the role

Goodwill Industries of Akron is looking to hire an entry-level Donation Attendant / Stock Associate. We seek goal-oriented individuals interested in proving themselves, customer service professionals with a strong work ethic, and community-minded people eager to build a career while serving others. Responsibilities

• Accept, load, unload, sort, and price donations as the face of the agency to donors
• Provide gracious and positive assistance to donors, offering coupons, receipts, and smiles
• Sort clothing and household goods into categories with efficiency and organization
• Test electronics to ensure they work properly before pricing
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donations
• Promote the development of service participants
• Commit to safety by keeping the work area clean and free of hazards and operating equipment with attention to safe procedures

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and load donations for clothing, furniture, and other household goods
• Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions
• Strong customer service skills
• Can-do attitude and ability to work efficiently with situational awareness
• Good communication skills and enjoyment of working with people
