Donation Attendant

About the role

Goodwill Industries of Akron is looking to hire an entry-level Donation Attendant / Stock Associate. We seek goal-oriented individuals interested in career development resources and community service, with a strong customer service orientation and a great work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Accept, load, unload, sort, and price donations
• Provide friendly assistance to donors, offering coupons, receipts, and smiles
• Sort clothing and household goods into categories
• Test electronics to ensure they work properly before pricing
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donations
• Promote the development of service participants
• Commit to safety by keeping the work area clean and free of hazards
• Operate equipment with attention to safe operating procedures

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and load donations for clothing, furniture, and other household goods
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
• Strong customer service skills
• Good communication skills and enjoyment working with people
• Efficient work style with awareness of surroundings

Schedule

This entry-level position requires a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
