Domestic Transportation Coordinator

About the Role
We’re seeking a Domestic Transportation Coordinator to manage our Transportation Management System (TMS) operations and coordinate all inbound and outbound truckload and LTL shipments. This role involves transportation planning, carrier communication, problem resolution, data compliance, and financial management of vendors. You’ll collaborate with internal teams (operations, finance) and external partners to optimize transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and drive operational improvements. Based in our NYC HQ, you’ll report directly to the Associate Manager of North American Logistics with a dotted line to the Logistics and Transportation Planner.
Responsibilities
- Daily load planning using our Transportation Management Software.
- Communicate frequently on tracking, outbound shipments, and pending deliveries.
- Support internal customer accounts, supply/warehouse teams, and external partners for daily inbound/outbound operations.
- Submit and verify required documentation (commercial invoices, BOL/POD, reports).
- Maintain professional relationships with carrier vendors and internal/external stakeholders.
- Optimize the TMS, expand its utilization, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure carrier data compliance with EDI standards for BI-driven improvements.
- Manage invoice workflows, rate change requests, and audit charges for accuracy.
- Resolve disputes with vendors and monitor payable aging for transportation accounts.
- Assist with month-end financial closing, accruals, and reporting of unsubmitted expenses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
- 1+ years of experience in domestic transportation.
- Experience managing 3PL relationships and influencing external partners.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, dashboards).
- SAP/MRP experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated problem-solver with a drive for resolution.
- TMS experience (E2Open/Blujay) is a plus.
Pay
US Pay Range: $55,000–$65,000 USD (base pay). Additional compensation may include bonuses, long-term incentives, and benefits, dependent on the position and level.
