Domestic Operations Specialist

DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air/ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers. We are part of Deutsche Post DHL, the world’s leading logistics provider with operations in over 220 countries. This role directs and coordinates the domestic land/air movement of freight, ensuring constant optimization, compliance with business strategy and regulations, and managing the interface with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support delivery of operations processes and activities under general/limited supervision.
• Provide timely and effective administrative support to the transport and distribution unit or department.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in working order through a comprehensive program.
• Collect and deliver shipments within specified time by planning routes, liaising with external departments, and ensuring timely communications.
• Liaise with import/export departments in anticipation of changes, make relevant adjustments, and communicate them to stakeholders.
• Undertake proper loading/unloading of the loading unit and ensure loading security.
• Report loading/unloading activities at the customer end through appropriate tools (scanning applications, phones, etc.).
• Record information into a database or computerized system to maintain up‑to‑date stock records.
• Retrieve stored information, place orders, or respond to enquiries such as inventory levels or delivery schedules.
• Follow and achieve compliance with established procedures and ensure proper usage of operations processes and policies.
• Resolve recurring issues faced during delivery as per defined processes, systems, and methods.
• Support team members with less experience in different or difficult situations.

Skills / Requirements

• 2+ years freight forwarding experience.
• Competent with Logistic Management or similar programs.
• Functionally competent with MS Office.
• Strong, applicable problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• High‑level leadership skills (communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills).
• Strong communication capabilities.
• Ability to make well‑informed decisions.
• BS/BA degree desired.
• Basic knowledge of Cargo Wise system is preferred.

Pay

$25.21 – $33.61 per hour (based on experience).
