About the role
Palo Alto Networks is seeking an experienced and motivated Solutions Engineer with a passion for endpoint security controls. As a Domain Consultant – Endpoint, you will work closely with our sales team to secure the technical “win” during the sales cycle. You will demonstrate value through presentations, articulate technical challenges, align Palo Alto Networks solutions with customer needs, and build technical trust. The role focuses on our Endpoint Privilege Manager (part of the Idira platform), a foundational endpoint control that addresses weaknesses in endpoint defenses against privileged attackers.
Domain Consultants partner with the sales organization to establish the value of our products through demos, presentations, meetings, and proofs of concepts (POCs). You will also help create successful and happy customers by building relationships and technical trust, positioning yourself as a technical and industry expert in Identity and Endpoint security.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver product demonstrations and sales presentations to create excitement around Palo Alto Networks technology.
- Use your knowledge of workforce operating systems and security concepts to understand and align with customer needs, matching their problems with Palo Alto Networks solutions.
- Plan and execute POC evaluations of Palo Alto Networks products with prospective customers.
- Use your sales experience to position Palo Alto Networks’s value and differentiators to secure the technical win.
- Document customer interactions in Salesforce.
- Collect and deliver constant feedback to Palo Alto Networks’s product management team to influence product direction and champion the voice of your customers.
- Earn customer trust by demonstrating expertise in endpoint and user security.
- Present and evangelize during tradeshows and customer events.
Requirements
- Advanced working knowledge (5+ years) of at least two of the three primary workstation/server operating systems: Windows, macOS, or Linux.
- Prior experience working primarily with endpoint/workstation products or solutions in a sales capacity.
- Hands-on experience with endpoint and identity management technologies such as Active Directory, Intune, SCCM/MECM, Jamf, and endpoint troubleshooting.
- Strong presentation skills and a professional demeanor, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of security concepts and the development of security roles within organizations that meet functional, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to anticipate risks, devise solutions in the moment, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proven ability to run technical discovery, design solutions, deliver demonstrations, answer RFPs, and support complex sales opportunities.
- Willingness to travel as needed (experience navigating enterprise-scale sales cycles is preferred).
- Experience working with REST APIs, scripts, or other no-code/low-code systems.
Pay
The compensation for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary plus commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be in the range of $198,000.00 - $273,000 per year. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
