Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement for teacher, librarian, or counselor positions).
• If hired without completing a Teacher’s Education Program, you must enroll in one and obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within 3 years.
• Must demonstrate active pursuit of Hawaii licensing requirements each year of employment.
• Upon hire, must have a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
• Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting.
