About the role

We’re looking for passionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. As a Petco Certified Dog Trainer, you’ll play a crucial role in helping pet parents achieve a better quality of life for their furry friends.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class dog training services
• Attend and successfully pass Petco’s 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program
• Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, supplies, and services
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress
• Engage with guests to provide 360-degree personalized solutions for pets and pet parents
• Work cross-functionally with grooming and veterinary teams to offer holistic whole health solutions
• Complete and apply ongoing training programs to maintain expertise
• Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience
• Contribute to a safe environment by maintaining safety protocols
• Engage in your career through developmental programs

Qualifications

• Passionate about animal care, training, and welfare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle and work with dogs safely and humanely
• Strong organizational skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Physical stamina for dog training activities
• Familiarity with computer systems and software
