Dog Trainer

About the role

We're looking for someone passionate about animal care, training, and welfare who wants to make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners. As a Petco Certified Dog Trainer, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the bond between pet parents and their dogs.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class dog training services
• Attend and successfully pass Petco's 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program
• Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, supplies, and services
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress
• Engage with guests to provide 360-degree personalized solutions for pets and pet parents
• Work cross-functionally with grooming and veterinary teams to provide holistic whole health solutions
• Complete and apply ongoing training programs to maintain expertise
• Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience
• Contribute to a safe environment by maintaining safety protocols
• Be part of a collaborative culture that solves for the health and wellness needs of pets
• Engage in your career through developmental programs

Qualifications

• Passionate about animal care, training, and welfare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle and work with dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds
• Strong organizational skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects
• Familiarity with computer systems and software

$16.94 per hour

Schedule

Flexible, with potential for weekend and evening shifts as needed.
