Dog Trainer

About the role

We're looking for someone passionate about animal care, training, and welfare to join our team as a Petco Certified Dog Trainer. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the bond between pet parents and their dogs.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class dog training services
• Attend and successfully pass Petco's 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program
• Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, supplies, and services
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions and pet parent feedback
• Engage with guests to provide 360-degree personalized solutions for the unique needs of pets and pet parents
• Offer holistic whole health solutions for all Petco guests
• Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience
• Contribute to a safe environment by maintaining safety protocols
• Be a part of a collaborative culture centered around solving for the health and wellness needs of pets
• Engage in your career through developmental programs

Qualifications

• Passionate about animal care, training, and welfare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle and work with dogs safely and humanely
• Strong organizational skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Physical stamina for dog training tasks
• Familiarity with computer systems and software
