Dog Trainer

About the role

We're looking for someone passionate about animal care, training, and welfare who wants to improve the lives of pets and their pet parents. This role involves providing world-class dog training services, recommending and selling appropriate classes and supplies, and offering 360-degree personalized solutions for pet parents and their dogs.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class dog training services
• Attend and successfully pass Petco's 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program
• Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, training, and supplies
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions and pet parent feedback
• Engage with guests to provide holistic whole health solutions
• Generate future business through a deep understanding of guests and their pets
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed to enhance the shopping experience
• Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Participate in developmental programs to support continued growth

Qualifications

• Passionate about animal care, training, and welfare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle and work with dogs safely and humanely
• Strong organizational skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects
• Familiarity with computer systems and software
