Dog Handler for Dog Daycare

About the role

We are in search of an experienced dog handler to work in our daycare.

Responsibilities

• Pro-active and hands-on handling of the dogs, with active engagement and social time spent with them according to their needs.
• Provide group walks for dogs checked in for Full Day Daycare (weather dependent).
• Post videos of the dogs throughout the day to our Instagram stories, following the guidelines set by our Social Media Manager.
• Maintain a clean and organized playroom area and back patio.
• Keep track of dog needs, and confirm with front desk staff about specific allergies, sensitivities, or reactivities.
• Dissuade and redirect bad habits or unruly behavior to maintain a safe environment for the dogs.
• Learn the dogs' feeding schedules and eating habits to ensure a safe and healthy mealtime for each pup.

Requirements

• Confident and comfortable with large groups of energetic dogs.
• Ability to use social media platforms.
• Organized, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• A genuine love for dogs and the patience to handle their quirks.
• Stay calm and in control in an occasionally chaotic environment.
• Prior experience working with dogs in a professional capacity.
• Flexible schedule and open availability.
• Ability to be on feet for extended periods while supervising dogs, assisting with daily walk routines, and maintaining a clean and organized daycare environment.
